Terms & Conditions

Last updated 11 Aug 2026

These terms apply whenever you hire a vehicle from Polinte Car Hire ("we", "us"). By confirming a hire, you agree to them.

Eligibility

Drivers must be at least 23 years old, hold a valid driving licence (Kenyan or an accepted international licence) for at least 2 years, and present a valid national ID or passport at pickup.

Booking and confirmation

Availability and rates are confirmed directly with our team via WhatsApp, live chat, phone, or our contact form. A booking is only confirmed once we've agreed on the vehicle, dates, and rate with you directly — submitting an inquiry does not itself guarantee availability.

Payment

We do not process payment online through this website. Payment is arranged directly with our team — typically via M-Pesa or cash — as agreed at the time of booking or on vehicle handover. A refundable security deposit may be required depending on the vehicle and hire duration.

Fuel policy

Unless otherwise agreed, vehicles are supplied with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. A refuelling charge applies if the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at pickup.

Mileage

Standard hires include a daily mileage allowance, communicated at the time of booking. Additional kilometres are charged per the agreed rate.

Driver responsibility and damage

The hirer is responsible for the vehicle for the duration of the hire period, including any traffic fines incurred. Damage beyond normal wear and tear, and any loss due to negligent use, is the hirer's responsibility, subject to any insurance arrangement agreed at booking.

Cancellations

Please notify us as early as possible if you need to cancel or change a confirmed booking. Cancellation terms (including any deposit forfeiture for late cancellations) will be communicated and agreed at the time of booking.

Breakdown or accident

In the event of a breakdown or accident, contact us immediately using the phone number or WhatsApp number provided with your booking. Do not attempt repairs without our authorisation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
